Dog tags. What color will the engraving be?
For plastic tags, the engraving color will be either white or
black. We use the combination that we be more easily read. It will be white on a blue, red, green, black, orange and purple colored
tag. It will be black on a yellow, white, mint, tan, pink or gray tag. For stainless steel
and brass, the engraving
is the color of the metal but darkened so that it is readable.
Our stainless steel is a more traditional material and may be
more durable in cases of animals that are rough with or like to chew on a tag. Some people simply prefer the traditional look and feel of
solid stainless steel. Others may be partial to brass. A plastic tag will make less noise on your pet's collar
and will be a little easier to read.
Colored aluminum is a material used by some other companies. The color on
these can wear off quickly and it may become difficult to read. Aluminum is the
material most often used for license and vaccination name plates because it is less
expensive than other materials. However, these are typically
replaced every year. The identification does no good if it is unreadable.
Get an extra tag or two for your luggage, kid's back pack, etc.
They make great gifts. An attachment ring is included with each tag.
